A multivariate spline library has been made available the IO-center partners and the public. The general-purpose library is written in C++ and is used to accelerate the production optimization technology of the IO-center.

A software library for multivariate splines has been made available the IO-center partners and the public. The library is written in C++ and facilitates the production optimization technology of the IO-center.

As a result of several years of research on fast production optimization using surrogate models researcher Bjarne Grimstad of the IO-center (IO4), and the students he has supervised together with Prof. Bjarne Foss, have developed and publicly released a C++ library for multivariate splines. The splines - which may act as approximations of any unknown multivariate functions - are suitable surrogate models for use in production optimization.

The library, named Splinter, has been packaged with a documentation and made available on github (github.com/bgrimstad/splinter). It is released under the non-restrictive MPL 2.0 license. The partners of the IO-center may enjoy additional support to install and test the library.

Please note that the library does not include any optimization functionality - it is however used by the spline optimization technology CENSO.
