The Research Council of Norway is a national strategic and funding agency for research activities, and a chief source of advice on and input into research policy for the Norwegian Government, the central government administration and the overall research community. The IO Center is a research center funded as a Center for Research-base Innovation (SFI). The purpose of the Centres for Research-based Innovation (SFI) is to build up and strengthen Norwegian research groups that work in close collaboration with partners from innovative industry and innovative public enterprises.
