The report studies the extent to which there is a need for establishing new Defined Situations of Hazard and Accident (DSHA) when IO is introduced. A literature review and an interview study show that there currently is no need for changing the DSHAs currently used in the industry, as the overall types of accidents that may arise in an IO environment are foreseen to be similar to the types of accidents that may arise in a traditional operational environment, It further reveals that the IO development produces a need for establishing a new ICT-related DSHA. It is also shown that the IO development influences the causal chains of leading to DSHAs. This impacts emergency handling, and implies that training scenarios should be revised when IO is introduced.
