In Norway, the amount of daily produced oil has decreased the last decade (Oljedirektoratet, 2014). A study conducted by the state-owned limited company Petoro also shows that current production leads to large efficiency losses (Andersen, 2014b). Focus on productivity is therefore an increased need for organizations within the Norwegian oil and gas production. An international oil and gas company initiated a project with the intent to improve collaboration in POG meetings. POG is working towards optimizing the production. Better collaboration in POG meetings will, according to the project, cause the participants of POG to contribute further to optimize the production and thus increase the efficiency of the organization. We perceived that the improvement project has gained a positive reputation and has been marked as a success. In this context, it has been interesting to see what makes the improvement project receive this publicity. It was therefore appropriate to examine the factors in POG improvement project that affects the collaboration in POG meetings.
Content

The study is based on document studies, interviews and observations of the improvement project. Two views were particularly important to take into consideration when we looked at the factors in the project that affect the collaboration in the POG meetings. The first was to see if the project took into account that it was a process of change and the second was to see if the project took into account various factors that could affect the collaboration in the POG meetings. It has been natural to introduce theory concerning collaboration and teamwork. Different perspectives from Lean production have also been emphasized. In addition, theories of how to make changes in organizations have been presented.

Our findings led to that the POG improvement project takes into account that it is a change process. This because the team that implements the project has the appropriate expertise and experience, the project has low risk, and arrives at the right time, it focuses on including the leadership and monitoring is executed. In addition, the improvement program s time commitment is of importance. These are factors in the POG improvement project that we believe helps to affect the collaboration in the POG meetings.

We also found that the POG improvement project has different factors that take into account human circumstances, meeting structure and technology in POG meetings when the project try to influence the collaboration in the POG meetings. These are also factors in the POG improvement project that we believe helps to affect collaboration in the POG meetings.
