The scope of phase 2 is a decision support system for faster and better medical decisions by an optimal workflow and collaboration, between medics onshore and offshore. The medical experts want to access the key medical data “on the go” and operate a video link “on the go”. If they have the right medical data they can make good quality decisions within 2-5 minutes. The purpose is to make better and faster medical decisions based on high quality medical information. This will improve the quality of healthcare offshore. There are three key activities; 1) design of optimal workflow and 2) development of prototype solution and 3) demonstration of prototype solution. As we run demonstrations we bring the experiences back to the design of the workflow, which makes this an ongoing process to develop the `on the go` solution. The medical data obtained in the system solution will be displayed for the medics offshore and onshore in a virtual examination accessible `on the go`. New capabilities enabled by advanced decision support systems have implications on the workflow between medics onshore and offshore. The next step is to integrate the decision support system with new work processes to fully obtain faster and better quality in the decision making processes in telemedicine.
