The scope of phase 1 was to achieve a telemedicine decision support system and workflow regarding the Vscan handheld ultrasound. Key results from phase 1: • All participants were able to acquire cardiac ultrasound images of such a quality that experts were able to get important information of cardiac function and pathology. • This will improve diagnostics, medical safety and health quality on offshore installations. • This development ensures trust in the overall HSE service offshore. • With optimal workflow it should not take more than 5-7 minutes to have a decision from the medical expert. • This development of optimal workflow will move today’s telemedicine to a significantly higher level of “telemedicine of tomorrow”. The scope of phase 2 – see IO center project - is a decision support system for faster and better medical decisions by an optimal workflow and collaboration, between medics onshore and offshore. The medical experts want to access the key medical data “on the go” and operate a video link “on the go”. If they have the right medical data they can make good quality decisions within 2-5 minutes. The purpose is to make better and faster medical decisions based on high quality medical information.
